After Prelims!!!
21/9 was one fun-filled day! I went kayaking with Robyn at Bedok Reservoir!
After the Bio paper, we met up at Bedok reservoir Paddles inc.. Since both of us didn’t have 1 star. We had to rent a sit-on-top kayak. The kayak was damn heavy and we had to carry it to the pontoon to bring it down to the waters. At the loading area, Bernard, the instructor taught us how to steer the kayak and back paddle. It was fun and relaxing to be out in the tranquil and serene waters after the stressful period. We just sit back and listen as Mother Nature sings her tune. It wasn’t too hot or too windy. The temperature was just right. We rowed to the centre in the reservoir and dangled our feet in the water. Oh it was so good and relaxing! I tried to lie down in the kayak but my life jacket got in the way. It wasn’t a typical kayak that we rented it didn’t have a hole for you to sit in the stretch your feet. It was more like a kayak that we sit on top of, with our legs exposed to the sun.
After meandering around the various balls anchored to the bottom of the reservoir, we decided to look for terrapins. There were many terrapins sunbathing near the rocks and pontoons. Some of them were quite big. One swam under our boat and there was also another one that swam up and looked at us. We tried hard to catch up with the terrapins as they swim by. We also saw this cemented block full of spiders. I tried splashing it with water and there were more spiders than I thought there were. Yuck~!
Soon it was time to return back to the shore. It was so fun, I wanted to extend the time but we were both hungry so we decided to go for lunch. Next time, when we go kayaking again, we are going to bring bread to feed the terrapins.
After washing up, we saw Alison and Jasmine kayaking with their TP canoe polo teammates. Alison was so excited to see me.
While walking to the bus stop, a psycho man came cycling by and asked Robyn and I, “Wanna fuck?” Both of us ignored him. To hell with him!!!
We went Tampines to eat then went home. I feel so rejuvenised!
Kayaking is so fun! Everyone should try it. I am addicted to it now. I am also going to take the one-star course soon.
22/9, I met Sarah, Jie Yin and Daijing to go Sentosa. But it was raining so we shopped at Harbour Front and later went to Suntec City and Marina Square. It was so boring, we walked aimlessly around again with no goal. With our beachwear (t-shirt, short and sandals), we attracted much attention from the shoppers.
I bought the potato chips from Candy Empire! We walked so much I was so tired. I realise I prefer SPORTS to SHOPPING specially those aimless kind. I only like shopping when I have something in mind to buy or to search for!
23/9…
We met up again, this time is to eat at Marche. Since all of us were first timers at Marche except Sarah, we were amuse by almost everything especially the different settings and the COW!
Everything was rather expensive and so we shared whatever we ordered. We ordered Grilled Chicken, Mushroom soup, pizza and mini russette. (Shredded potatoes)
I don’t like the pizza, Jie yin had to choose 5 toppings and she chose crabstick, squid, prawns, ham and pineapple. It was weird tasting but edible.
I don’t think I’ll go there anymore. It is just too weird for me.
We walked around again. I bought a very nice sweet from 7-11. It is the Florida Natural juice but now they have the sweets. It is shape like a miniature juice packet and in it there are small juice nuggets.
We went Wheellock because Sarah needed to fix her I-pod. She went to fix her thing while we went Borders. Jie Yin was looking for non-fiction books and realised that they were all memoirs. I told her to read my blog instead since she wanted non-fiction.
After that we went to eat NYDC mudpie. Yummy!
Then we went to eat Wow tako! Since Sarah didn’t want to walk to PS, we took a bus there. Halfway, Jie yin had stomachache.
I love Tako! I was happily eating it in the bus to my auntie’s house! I went home quite late after dinner at my auntie’s house. My aunties and cousin are all so excited to watch some Taiwan or Korean show (I can’t tell the difference), entitled War and Beauty. It is one of those that come in the DVD. I am definitely not a fan of those cheesy romances and soap operas, dynasty and what have you!
I prefer sitcoms and reality shows.
As I was about to leave the house, I saw this big fat lizard on the wall of the corridor. I shriek and it, too got a shock. It went left and right and up and down quickly, it probably didn’t know where to move. Then suddenly, it fell to the floor with a loud thud. (cos it is fat)
I screamed again and it hurried off to the other side. So I walked further and saw it again. I screamed and it fell again. I screamed louder and ran away. Gross! Gross!
My auntie laughed like hell. She says that even I can create so much impact on the lizard! Hahaa!
