So much love.. so little time!

I had a wonderful time! I wish time would stop!

We are all gathered here at Uncle Tom’s house to celebrate 3rd granduncle birthday! Today I witness what love really means..

Early this morning, mum made her specialty, her mee siam. It is so special that everyone who eats it will give thumbs up. Everyone keeps telling her to start a stall but no capital.

This morning was a queer morning…
My grandfather was telling me about his childhood of climbing trees to pluck fruits from his own backyard. Sadly today it has turned into a petrol station. There were so many different trees, like cherry tree, papaya tree, ciku tree and rambutan tree. I believe life was so much wonderful then. So much freedom.

Around late afternoon, mum and I took a cab to Uncle tom’s house. There, she started preparing the gravy. Annabelle and Joel were at home and they were so busy playing computer upstairs.

Soon, more and more people arrived. Billy J also came back from school. Auntie Winnie brought her Curry prawns, piety and popiah. Auntie Pam, Tom’s wife made pineapple rice, pork ribs and sweet and sour pork.

I love the piety and curry prawns. It was soooo good. Auntie winnie says I am her angel and her ardent supporter.. haha..

Then the birthday boy came. 3rd granduncle who turns 75 came. He is so shy and humble.

Uncle Poh heng came with his rambutans, he is so handsome. Uncle Paul and Auntie Lee Yin came with a tray of vegetables.. but too late by the time, everyone is too full with all the mee siam and piety. Rachel came but with her fiancé. It came as a surprise. We didn’t know she had a boyfriend all along. And this guy is.. Oh-my-god!.. He WAS her ex boyfriend and now he IS her fiancé. So weird.

Everyone was shock when she announced she was getting married. Ummmm..

There was so much joking and drinking. Some of them got really drunk. Haha..

We sang Happy birthday and Auntie winnie and Auntie lee yin sang so loudly.
It was a huge mango cake. But I didn’t think it was very nice.

Auntie Winnie then did yoga in the middle of the hall and my mum wanted to follow. In the process, I think she burst her pants.. hahah..

Uncle Tom in his drunk state said all sorts of stuff. He was reminiscing the past.

He said to all of us and to his father, my 3rd granduncle..
Pa, you are the best father that anyone can ever have. You are not only a father but also a mother to us. I remember when St Patrick School called you because of Paul. You defended him. Paul was at that time mixing with gangster and had long hair. But u told the principal, if my son was a gangster I would be the first to know. But he is not!

So my father always tell us,”cut your hair or the police will catch you!”

So I thank my father for everything and we all love him..

Then everyone chorus: Yeah! We love you, pa!

Then Auntie winnie added, Sorry we didn’t tell you earlier! (that broke the solemn mood and everyone laughed)

Wahh so touching..

Uncle Tom keep thanking us for coming! He gave me this advice before I left the place, always be humble!

Oh.. I wish the night would never end.

People think simply.. People were more united then.. What's education if the people continue to live in the world of their own? In the continuous pursuit of money and material? Eating genetically modified food? But i guess now, we do not have much of a choice.. Right?
