Shop & Save bbq

I was so honored to be invited to the shop and save barbeque. How many teens get such opportunity to see the other side of life? The auntie world.

I was fortunate to be part of the event. I like to meet people and experience new things. That’s so cool!

It was an eye-opener for me.

I got to the chalet quite early. It was at Aranda country club not NTUC resort… hahaha.. Thank goodness! If not it would be so funny. Can u imagine shop and save staff going to NTUC resort? So ironical.

Anyway, when I got there, it was full of aunties. They were all doing what most aunties would do, playing majong! Some were just sitting beside watching people play. My idol was screaming and laughing hysterically. See, I am her lucky charm, the moment I entered, I think she won some money.

I was sitting there, observing whatever was happening.

I heard one auntie calling home saying that she was at pi yen’s ( another auntie) bungalow. She probably didn’t know it was called a chalet.

Idol is still screaming and laughing at the background. The atmosphere was electrifying. Everyone was speaking in Cantonese as I was told.

The titbits auntie passed me titbits and an orange to eat. So nice of her. Some people wouldn’t have bothered.

After a while, some men came in the room with a few kids. Their presence were strongly felt being the only few guys there. One was even in his boxer shorts. But quite cute. One of the men looked so so young and he turned out to be a store manager! Impressive.

Went down to the bbq pit..
Idol and some aunties were there setting up the fire. They use CP mid wings. So smart no need to marinate. All the food is complimentary of shop and save I guess. Guaranteed freshness. Idol and an auntie went to get the wire gauze and I was left with another auntie. SHE IS ONE FUNNY LADY!

The charcoal was burning and she took a cold fishball and tried to cook it by holding it with tongs over the fire. She looked at it and said, “wah, chao ta already but still cold leh.”
